As most of you all also know, I don't really accept "freebies" all that often, so when it was released to a lot of bloggers, I just wasn't into it.
I've got to say, when I heard there was going to be a second version released, I was a bit skeptical. I really felt like the original should kind of be left to stand alone. Surprisingly, I was not interested.
I know, crazy.
Then I started thinking.... I need this just because my readers will be curious about it! So then, my curiosity started to rise.
And last week, I ordered one for myself.
And I'm super happy I did :)
...other than the fact that the shade Half Baked is in both palettes. If they wanted to repeat a shade, it should have been Virgin, the best highlight shade ever. Or how about just make 12 totally different shades... haha
Here are my comparison photos and swatches of the original Naked and Naked 2 palettes. To see a full review and to hear my thoughts on the differences, each specific color, and packaging, check out my video at the bottom of the post.
**I ordered mine from the actual Urban Decay website. They sold out pretty quickly (uh, the day I ordered it... they apparently like seeing us squirm).
Which is kind of a genius marketing strategy. It makes everyone want them more.
I love Urban Decay, but seriously.
We all know Urban Decay is capable of creating enough palettes not to sell out, especially after the Naked madness during the original release (that went on for MONTHS). I really hope the whole restocking-selling out-restocking madness doesn't go on as long as it did last time so that all of you who want one can get one soon. After all, Urban Decay, I've got tutorials to make for my viewers, and if they want to buy one, they should be available. :)
You can also enter your email at the Urban Decay website and they'll let you know when they become available again, which is nice.
So no worries! Tutorials will come soon. I'm going to feel it out for a bit so that the tutorials don't just piss everyone off that wants one but don't have one due to the selling-out craze... haha So those will come when they're a little more readily-available.

luv the video. we have the same name. i have the original palette. happy holidays! youtube.com/svhwdwnut
ReplyDeletedamn wish i could get them both i heard a lot about the naked palettes but never the the chance to get them since they're so damn expensive...
ReplyDeleteI really agree about the packaging, but everyone seems to disagree! Idk if I need the Naked2 just yet as I have loads of cool tones elsewhere and most of my warms are in Naked1 but it's pretty!
ReplyDeletei too vacillated when I heard Naked2 was coming after seeing the few images I could find online but took a chance like the lemming that I am (and I was one of those that was late to the Naked palette party and it took me forever to get one but I use it all the time!). I am very glad I ordered Naked2 - I love the cooler tones. I'll be looking forward to your tutorials.
ReplyDeleteI love both of the palettes, I can't just choose one as my favorite though. They both have different qualities, and I couldn't live without either one of them :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the only palette I use on a regular basis. LOVE it and will love the new one even more!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my hands on either one, they are def. on my Xmas list!!! I like how the second one looks like it has both shimmery and non-shimmery colors. Thanks for the review. You look gorgeous as always!!

I love your reviews/tutorials! I just got with the program and bought the original Naked palette a few weeks ago. So far I am loving it. I'll have to check out Naked 2 as well.
ReplyDeleteI think I already prefer this palette to the original
ReplyDeleteI'm still planning to purchasing the Naked 2, but I think I'll wait a couple of months for the hype to die down.
ReplyDeleteWell, I was expecting something different. The colors are so similar to Naked1, and I am not sure, if i will buy it. I am a huge fan of Naked1 and this one is disappointing
ReplyDeleteMime came on monday and I love it too! So glad I bought it. I still love the 1st naked palette but I think if you have both the possibilities are endless! Can't wait to see your tutorials!
ReplyDeleteLooks really nice. :) I can't wait to get mine.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't that impressed by the original naked palette but maybe you can help me determine if it's a normal issue:). I always find when I'm applying the eyeshadows from this set, a TON of it always ends up under my eyes. It's hard to describe but I almost feel like the formulation is 'too dry'?? Alot of the application doesn't stay on my eyes and falls off on my face. None of my MAC eyeshadows have this issue. Anyway, hope that's clear but it would be interesting to know if it's normal or if mine is defective. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI had my mom order mine for Christmas && knowing that it came in the mail already and I cant have it til Christmas is killing me! I want it now! haha

I finally got my hands on the Naked pallette not to long ago. Urban Decay doesn't sell online to Canada (SO DUMB)so I had to haunt my local sephora store until they finally had one!
ReplyDeleteLove the pallet but now I am going to have to wait and wait for the second one. Not sure if I'll pick it up but it looks promising. Thanks for the swatches!

I love the shade palette...the colors are muted and could definitely be used to create subtle looks.Obviously you have got to consider the skin tone you wear.organic cosmetic brushes
ReplyDeleteI found your product review very helpful and have decided to make my first purchase on the original palette. I apprecite that you cover every aspect of the product, including packaging, applicators and extra gifts that come with the purchase.
ReplyDeleteDid Urban Decay discontinue the whiskey 24 7 eyeliner? I can't find it anywhere there is bourbon and there is underground, but I can't find whiskey and now when you buy the naked palette it comes with a brush instead of the double eyeliner.
ReplyDeleteboth palettes look amazing! i've yet to splurge on either of them, though now i'm extremely tempted. thanks for the review!

My aunt want to buy for me these Naked palettes... But, which palette that I should wear? Naked 1 or Naked 2.. My skin tone is medium... Not fair not dark... :) But, I love the Naked 1 than the Naked 2... Bcoz Naked 1 was with urban decay primer potion and Naked 2 was with a small lipgloss... I prefer the Naked 1 ^^
ReplyDeleteHey! I live in norway and we dont have urban decay over here! But my friend is going to the stats over the summer and she is going to grab a naked palet for me! My question is wich one have the most mat colors? Cuse its hard to pick one :S
